Who is Prairie Companion Company?

We know we have lots of friends and family that support us and know our history but we wanted to make a blog post dedicated to introducing ourselves and giving some back story to our story. Let’s start at the beginning. I had grown up in Southern California as did my husband, although we did not know one another until we moved to Northern California. We both had some sort of gardening and ranching experiences from a young age and eventually we found ourselves moving to the real Northern California, about 5 hours north of San Fransisco.

We both worked for commercial farms that produced massive amounts of goods to the community and fed our desires to learn more about sustainable agriculture and see where our skills fit into our life goals. My husband attended college for sustainable agriculture and soil science, while I attended courses offered by University of California for comprehensive soil health and regenerative agriculture. We both separately wanted to purchase property and raise our family there, growing food for our family and the community and living simply. Self reliance and sustainability have always been drivers in our life goals and ultimate purpose.

We met on a micro farm where my husband was the lead farmer and I was hired as a second pair of hands to help. We worked there for a few years together and eventually decided to leave and go on to our own venture of owning our own farm. We took many years of dedicating our lives to other farms and growth of others business and when we took the leap to grow our own business it was scary and exciting. Our drive, passion, and hard work got us where we are today. We have been able to raise a company from the ground up, offering our naturally grown micro greens to our local community and finally after many years of work we are able to offer our Angus Beef to the community as well. We are hoping to offer shipping all over the nation for our frozen meats and we hope you follow our journey! Please sign up for our newsletter to stay in touch for all developments!
